What is CAT 7 Ethernet Cable?
CAT 7 Ethernet Cable is the type of network copper cable standard released by IEEE in 2002. It has a maximum speed of 10 Gbps and supports a maximum frequency of 1000 MHz. It is divided into CAT 7A version (Class FA) and CAT 7 version (Class F), both supports GG45 (compatible with RJ45 ports).
Compared to a CAT6 Ethernet cable, a CAT7 Ethernet cable increases the maximum speed from 10 Gbps (55 meters) to 10 Gbps (100 meters) and the maximum frequency from 250 MHz to 1000 MHz, while supporting both 10GBase-T networks. Upgrading from earlier network versions requires only replacing the switch or router, eliminating the need for large-scale equipment replacement and saving costs.
CAT7 cable employs a multi-layer shielding solution to reduce near-end crosstalk (NEXT) and EMI/RFI line noise, improving data transmission stability in data centers and large-scale deployments.
